CAA @ Canal Closing Reception

The Cambridge Art Association (CAA) is pleased to announce Inspiring Change for the Climate Crisis (i3C) at CAA @ Canal, a Members Curatorial Exhibit, curated by artist and scientist Adriana G. Prat and including artists from the i3C (inspiring Change for the Climate Crisis) group. This exhibit is part of our new Members’ Curatorial Series, an annual opportunity for members of the CAA to curate an exhibit of three or more artists. The exhibit opens on April 3rd, kicking-off a one-year partnership with BioMed Realty, at a new gallery space, CAA @ Canal, located at 650 E. Kendall Street, in the heart of Kendall Square's Canal District. The exhibit will remain on view through May 12th, 2023. An opening reception will be held on Friday April 14th (3 to 5 pm). This event is free and open to the public.

The exhibit presents work by 21 multidisciplinary i3C artists that explores environmental themes such as consumerism, pollution, climate crisis impacts, and the beauty, vulnerability, and interconnectedness of the natural world.

The artists: Krisanne Baker, Steve Bennett, Cedric Harper, Martha Heller (and Assistant to the Curator), Muriel Horvath, Maria Celeste Linardi, CJ Lori, Michelle Lougee, Rebecca McGee Tuck, Michael Manning, Shelby Meyerhoff, Michaela Morse, Carol Moses, Michaela Nielsen, Jeffrey Nowlin, Paula Pitman Brown, Steven Rudin, Luna Sconty, Yulia Shtern, Cynthia Staples, and Adriana G. Prat (Curator).

The i3C artists believe that change is not only possible but also a necessary and powerful element for critical environmental transformation., hoping that the exhibit viewer explores the complex feelings that the environmental crisis can bring, experiences a sense of wonder in the natural world, and gets inspired to action that can be implemented to contribute to the ripple effect needed
